DIVE DEEPER INTO THE ATLANTIC

The Dive Center Santiago is within walking distance of King Fisher Village and offers PADI-certified diving courses for beginners and advanced divers. The dive center's instructors teach in German, Portuguese and English. To avoid masses under water, dive groups consist of no more than 6 people. Short distances to the dive boat as well as to the dive sites make the experience a relaxed one.

Big fishs and huge rocks

The volcanic structure that is clearly visible in the landscape on Santiago continues under the water surface. Typical of the underwater landscape are massive boulders, towers, caves, canyons, gates, steps and steep slopes.

The rock faces are densely covered with coral species, hydrozoon, algae and yellow shining crustose anemones. The Cape Verde Islands are among the - still - richest in fish in the world. Here you have the chance to catch a glimpse of all the large fish and marine mammals living in the southern Atlantic.

The geographic location of the diving sites provides ideal and calm diving conditions for both beginners and advanced open water divers. There are 14 diving sites in or near the two bays of «Ponta de Atum» and «Baia Verde» which are easily accessible by boat.

  • Immersion depths: 10 - 25 meters
  • Visual range: 10 - 20 meters, depending on time of year
